Best Dip Stands Of 2020

As a long-time fitness enthusiast, I’ve always been a fan of well-sculpted arms.

But early on in my fitness journey, I wasn’t aware of what it takes to get an excellent upper body exercise. I tried everything, from pull-ups and press-ups to back squats, but nothing seemed to give the desired results.

Then, after an intense bout of research, I narrowed down the choice to the dip. I tried it for a month and fell in love with the results! Dips are one of the best exercises for your arms, but their effectiveness doesn’t stop there.

Dip stands are among the most fruitful upper body equipment in existence, and with the right dip stand, you can get a full workout right from the comfort of your home.

Trouble is, most dip stands available in the market don’t deliver on their promises, and this leads to unnecessary hassles and interruptions in your workout regime. But don’t worry, I’m here today to save the day for everyone.

Howdy! I’m Michael. And today, I’m going to take you on a tour of the best dip stands of 2020. And to make matters more interesting,  I’ve also included a handy buyers’ guide at the end of the list to aid in your task of choosing the right one.

So, why wait? Let’s dip in.

Relife Rebuild Your Life Power Tower Workout Dip Station

This is the ultimate solution for those of you who are looking for a complete workout device. For me, this combination dip and pull-up stand is the perfect way to target multiple muscle groups and perform complete weight-based workouts. The following are the details of this impressive product.

What I Like

My upper body is an area on which I want to focus, and this rack allows me to do just that! The Power Tower is made of durable, industry-grade steel that can hold up to 330 pounds. This makes it ideal for me (and potentially you) to try out multiple exercise routines that are suitable for upper-body strength-building.

The nine-levels of adjustment add to the versatility of the device, and this makes it perfect for the whole family. My wife and I both use this for strength training, and though we’re of different heights, the rack adjusts for both of us beautifully.

And I must mention the neat safety features of this device, which are certainly a must in such a piece of fitness equipment. The suction cups at the bottom keep the rack from slipping due to uneven ground, and the safety lock-nut prevents the movable structures from falling off in case of vibrations.

What I Don’t Like

I bet my readers know by now that I am a stickler for warranty, and this product gives me only a one year warranty on the main frame. This, if you ask me, is a bit too low. But the company offers a lifetime warranty on all accessories and parts, so that’s a good thing anyhow.

Pros:

  • High quality steel construction.
  • Multiple heights and backrest adjustments.
  • Advanced safety features.

Cons:

  • Only a one year warranty on the frame.

Verdict

As far as dip stands go, this product is one of the better ones. With durable construction and neat safety features, this is a device that can deliver a workout routine that packs a punch. And the adjustable nature of the product makes sure that anyone can use the same rack.

As for the warranty thing, that’s just my personal preference, so don’t let that dissuade you from buying this beauty.

ProsourceFit Dip Stand Station

The next item on our list is from the house of ProsourceFit, and this is one of the brands that I trust. ProsourceFit is known for manufacturing high-quality gym equipment, and this product is no exception. Plus, it also comes in three different colors (red, yellow, and black), which means your gym is no longer boring.

What I Like

The first thing that caught my eye regarding this product is the neat safety features. Dangerous accidents can happen with a dip station if it slips, but this unit has rubber feet that prevent it from slipping. Also, stabilizing safety connectors help to extend the length between bars, which makes for adjustable exercising.

The overall design of the stand is pretty durable, and the powder-coated iron frame can hold up to 400 pounds. This allows me to use the device for full core and upper body training. Also, the structure of the product is decidedly lightweight, and I can even take it apart for secure storage and transport.

What I Don’t Like

There’s not much to write against this product, and I’d be doing a disservice by trying to find fault with an excellent piece of equipment. However, I must mention that this product does slightly wobble when placed on uneven ground. I think this one would have benefited from attached suction cups like the first item on our list.

Pros:

  • Durable design.

  • Adjustable build.

  • Padded grips for comfort.

Cons:

  • Wobbles on uneven surfaces.

Verdict

If you are a fan of sturdy gym equipment, then I suggest going for this one. Durable and adjustable, yet at the same time lightweight and portable, this is one product that meets the needs of every user.

AmazonBasics Dip Fitness Bar

AmazonBasics products seldom disappoint, and this dip stand carries on that tradition. Perfect for pros as well as novices, this device allows you to create a workout routine that suits you perfectly. The device provides not only complete upper body workout capabilities but also supports other exercises. Just read on below and be amazed.

What I Like

First off, this product has a very high weight range at 661 pounds, which means it can easily support any form of workout (and person). And despite being made from durable steel, I was pleasantly surprised by the lightweight portability of the device.

Amazon also takes care of the comfort factor by providing foam-made, slip-free grips on the product, which make for a comfortable hold. Further, the device’s foam floor pads ensure it doesn’t slip and cause accidents.

For me, at least, this was a great buy, mainly because of the portability and durability factors. I live in an apartment, and as you can very well understand, it’s challenging to create a proper workout area in such a constrained space. But this device allows making judicious use of space and thus creates an optimum home workout experience.

What I Don’t Like

I would have liked it if the product were easily collapsible. That way, I could store it away after workouts. But considering the amount of portability it already affords, I guess that would be asking for too much.

Pros:

  • 661-pound weight capacity.
  • Lightweight and portable.
  • Foam grips for safe hold.

Cons:

  • Non-foldable design.

Verdict

For those of you who are looking for a well-rounded workout regime that involves complete full-body dip routines, this is the product to go with. Its sturdy, yet lightweight nature makes it perfect for all users, and the massive weight carrying capacity provides a different kind of flexibility. Altogether, a great product to go with.

GoBeast Dip Stand

The GoBeast brand is one of the most loved all the world over and with good reason. As this product amply demonstrates, the GoBeast creed is to provide quality products at an affordable price.

What I Like

Lots to like in this beast! Built to last with durable grips, this product supports up to 330 pounds of weight. The soft padded grips protect your hands from getting tired or injured, and the easy release lock pins allow you to adjust the width of the dip.

But the area where this product scores for me is the adjustability. Not only does it allow me to modify the width and height according to my needs, but it also assembles and dismantles quickly. This makes it perfect for stowing away after use.

Finally, I’d like to mention the multiple resistance bands that come included with the product. These allow you to build endurance and up the ante on your training regime.

What I Don’t Like

Frankly speaking, the only point of doubt that I have about this product is the weight range. The 330 pounds of weight carrying capacity seems a little too little when compared to the 661 pounds (just double) capacity of the AmazonBasics product.

Pros:

  • Durable construction.
  • Adjustable build quality.
  • Fully portable product.

Cons:

  • Only 330 pounds carrying capacity.

Verdict

Considering the durable make and quality of the product, I’d suggest anyone serious about fitness to consider it. Yes, granted the weight limit is a bit low, but for regular exercisers, this should not be too much of a problem. And if you add the portability of the product to the mix, then you’ve got the perfect device for building those triceps.

Bowflex BodyTower

The final product on the list is a premium item that takes home workouts to a whole new level. The BodyTower from Bowflex allows me to perform more than 20 exercises, including dips, that make sure I get a full-body workout. And if that doesn’t satisfy you, then read on to know the other brilliant features of this product.

What I Like

Really…everything! I’ve already mentioned that the device allows one to perform over twenty exercises. This is made possible by seven levels of adjustments that come with the device. Made from a commercial-grade steel frame, this product offers unmatched stability along with E-Z adjust horizontal bars. These allow me to change the intensity levels of the workout and increase my stamina.

I was also pleasantly surprised to find hand grips and sling straps included with the product, and this made my day. Further, the device also has a non-absorbent back-pad made of foam that adds to the comfort factor. And finally, the product boasts of a compact footprint, which makes it perfect for constrained areas.

What I Don’t Like

The Price! As I mentioned at the very outset, this is a premium product, and hence the hefty price tag. But considering the features that you get, I guess this is only to be expected. So not complaining.

Pros:

  • Stable and durable construction.
  • E-Z adjust horizontal bars.
  • Over 20 exercises are possible.

Cons:

  • Hefty price tag.

Verdict

There’s really no point in writing a verdict for such an excellent product, and the only suggestion I have for you is that if you can afford it, then go for it. This is one of those rare, stellar products that come along once in a while, and you’ll not regret getting it.

Choosing The Best Dip Stands- The Ultimate Buying Guide

And there you have it! Now you know about the best dip stands to buy in 2020. But don’t think that’s enough to choose the best one for you. After all, a dip stand is an extremely personal piece of equipment and needs careful consideration before buying.

So to help you make the right choice, here’s a nifty buying guide. Once you have the details of this guide in mind, you’ll be well on the way to buying that perfect dip stand.

Let’s begin.

The Height

The first point of consideration when buying a dip stand is the height. Based on your height, you’ll want to choose a dip stand that makes it easy to perform any preferred range of exercises. Ideally, you’ll need the horizontal bars to be aligned at your hip level to enable easy dips.

In this case, the best way to go would be to choose an adjustable dip stand, like the BowFlex Body Tower or the GoBeast dip stand. Another advantage of choosing an adjustable dip stand is that anyone can use it. So you need not restrict the device to one person only.

The Weight Capacity

Of equal importance with the height is the weight capacity of your dip stand. You’ll need to check if the dip stand is stable enough to support your body weight; otherwise, it can lead to severe accidents.

While most standard dip stands support the average person, it’s best to check out the load rating before making the purchase. From my list, I’d suggest going with the AmazonBasics model; with its 661 pounds weight capacity, it’s clearly the winner in this category.

Stability and Durability

Your dip station needs to be perfectly stable; otherwise, you may be in danger of accidents. Avoid shaky ones, and be sure to go with a broad-based device that has stabilizers for extra protection. The Relife dip stand is my personal favorite in this category.

As for durability, a steel frame with powder coating is a must. Generally, the broader the gauge of the steel used in the frame, the better will be the longevity of the product. Also, the powder coating helps to prevent rust and corrosion, thus adding to the device’s life.

Portability And Storage

Unless you have a sprawling gym area, you need the dip stand to have a small footprint. The best option here is to go for dip stands that can be folded and stored someplace convenient. Also, make sure that the product is lightweight so that it can be easily ported from one place to another. From the list above, the GoBeast and AmazonBasics models are clear winners in this category.

Range Of Exercises

Finally, the last and most important thing to consider is the range of exercises that can be performed with the product. Dip stands may look like simple pieces of equipment, but there’s more to them than meets the eye.

While some dip stands are good enough for only dips, others are more complex and offer a more extensive range of exercises. An excellent example of this is the Bowflex Body Tower model, which offers over twenty different exercises to be performed. Now, if that’s not versatile, I don’t know what is.

Conclusion: Picking The Best Dip Stand-How To Make The Right Selection

Wrapping up, I only have one piece of wisdom for you: don’t buy a dip stand based on what others say. After all, you’re the one who’ll be using the product. So don’t go by someone else’s decision and decide for yourself which device you’d like to get. That way, you are sure to get the best value for your money.

Just keep the above buyers’ guide in mind and make sure that you choose one based on your needs. The five I’ve listed above are each best in many respects, but the ultimate decision rests with you.

And before I take my leave, are dip stations your favorite piece of gym equipment? If so, why? And if not…well, why not? Do be sure to let me know in the comments. I’m always eager to hear from you.

Till then, keep doing the dips!
